Gold and Bronze Medal Wins for Brimstage’s Beers

Scarecrow and Trapper’s Hat both brought home medals from the 2014 SIBA North West Beer Competition in October.

Scarecrow, a hoppy 4.2% cask ale, won Gold in the Best Bitters category, and Trapper’s Hat, a lighter, fruity session beer, got a Bronze in the Standard Bitters section.

SIBA gold SIBA bronze

Brewery manager Allan Machin said: “With more than 200 beers in the competition we’re delighted that two of our beers were recognised as among the best in the region.

“We’re a very small brewery that has worked hard over the past eight years to produce the best real ale we can and it’s nice to have another award to go along with all the positive comments we get from drinkers across the north west.”

Scarecrow now goes on to compete with the top Best Bitters from across the land in the national SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers) competition.
