Nestling in the heart of the Wirral countryside lies the home of Trappers Hat Bitter. Brimstage Brewery was established in October 2006 and was the first brewery in operation on the Wirral since the closure of Birkenhead Brewery in the mid 60s. The brewery drew inspiration from its surroundings and the strong agricultural history in the area. The animals found in our beer designs are often spotted on the Leverhulme land on which we are based, giving the brewery a strong link to its location and traditions.

We have a dedicated team coming from all walks of life headed by founder Neil Young. We only ever use the finest ingredients available. This is reflected in Trappers Hat Bitter, Scarecrow Bitter and Oyster Catcher Stout being presented with ”Beer of the Festival” awards from CAMRA (the Campaign for Real Ale). Trappers Hat Bitter has been a Champion Beer of Britain finalist in 2009 and 2010.

Our main trading area is within 30 miles of the brewery covering the Wirral, parts of Cheshire, Liverpool and North Wales.
